Prior to the Kansas City game, the 2022 Illini Big Ten Championship banner was raised, and players/staff were presented with their championship rings. In addition to the current players from last year still on the roster, former Illini Trent Frazier, Damonte Williams, Alfonso Plummer, and Kofi Cockburn were able to make the trip to receive theirs in person.
